ADVENTUROUS EXCURSION
The Adventurous Excursion allows the traveler to maximize on the diversity of the Belizean land and seascapes, and some rugged environments. Be prepared for some awesome hiking, climbing, repelling, zip-lining, caving, diving, snorkeling and kayaking, to name just a few of the activities. Excitement? You better Belize it!! With your local guide, you will trek through dense tropical rain-forest followed by steep climbs to the top of ancient Mayan temples or snorkeling, kayaking and diving among the world’s second largest barrier reef…ready, set, go!

DAY 1:
Transportation upon arrival to the charming, historic riverside village of Burrell Boom, a former Mahogany logging town. Should you arrive prior to the evening, you may visit the Baboon Sanctuary or enjoy a cruise down the Belize River.
DAY 2:

Your expedition begins with relaxing transport to the village of Carmelita followed by a boat ride on the New River to the site of Lamanai—submerged crocodile in Maya. Surrounded by dense tropical vegetation, Lamanai is host to a Mesoamerican archaeological find, once a significant city of the Mayan civilization. Lamanai includes a museum of Mayan artifacts, and the ruins of ancient temples.. The High Temple provides stunning views of the surrounding treetops and the tropical landscape.

Overnight accommodations in the historical town of Burrell Boom.

DAY 3:

An early start heads out to the beautiful village of Santa Cruz. Here you will zipline through panoramic vistas from 11 decks and 7 lines with a birds-eye view of the rainforest canopy. After zip-lining above the Stann Creek River you will finish the days adventures tubing down its rapids for almost 2 miles of natural Belize splendor.

Evening accommodations will be in the district of Cayo.

DAY 4:

Breakfast is followed with transportation to the village of Teakettle and exploration of the Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) cave, traveling back in time as far as 700 AD. Here your trekking fitness will be challenged with a 45 min. hike through the lower cave where you will be introduced to the secrets and mysteries of the Mayan underworld. This 1989 discovery is recognized as one of the top 10 sacred cave destinations worldwide.

Day 5:  

Another panoramic view of Belizean landscape, this time down Hummingbird Highway to the district of Stan Creek. Get out your cameras and binoculars as you are guided on a 35 minute breaktaking hike through a lush rainforest to the top of Angel Falls, learning about the flora and fauna along the way. Once atop the  falls, you will rappel down two separate drops of over 200 feet, to enjoy the magnificent pool at the bottom. After the exciting decention, you will be transported to the banks of the Cave Branch River and enjoy leisurely cave tubing through a wondrous collection of stalactites and stalagmites cave formations.

Evening return for overnight accommodations in the district of Cayo.

DAY 6:

This morning’s picturesque transportation to Belize City is followed by an exhilarating water taxi ride to San Pedro Caye for a day of snorkeling at Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley. Stunning blue water and an amazing diverse marine life of spectacularly colorful coral,  is the backdrop of this aquatic escapade.

Overnight accommodations include an enjoyable evening of Caye nightlife.

  DAY 7:

The day’s adventure begins with an open ocean boat ride to the magnificent Great Blue Hole of Belize, just outside of the Lighthouse Reef. The Great Blue Hole is one of Belize’s top attractions and is a part of the larger Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System, and a World Heritage Site of the UNESCO World Heritage. The giant submarine sinkhole is a world class diving and snorkeling destination—a rich habitat for a variety of exciting marine life. Following the Blue Hole visit, the boat captain will head for Secret Beach at Ambergris Caye, where you will relax and enjoy the warm, shallow, crystal clear waters of Secret Beach…shhh, don’t tell anyone.

Enjoy another evening of accommodations and  San Pedro caye nightlife.

 

DAY 8:

7AM – FAREWELL BREAKFAST

8AM – DEPART TO MAINLAND AIRPORT.
